YOUTH PROGRAM
Conflict Resolution Skills
Tailored for youth aged 6 to 17, our program teaches practical conflict resolution strategies such as active listening, empathy, and problem-solving. We help participants understand the nature of conflicts and provide them with the skills needed to address disputes in a positive and effective manner.
Age-Appropriate Communication
We offer age-specific workshops designed to enhance communication skills. From helping younger children express their feelings constructively to guiding teenagers in managing more complex social interactions, we ensure that each age group receives the support they need to communicate effectively within their communities.
Mentorship and Support
Our program pairs each participant with a mentor who provides guidance and encouragement tailored to their age and developmental stage. These mentors are passionate about helping youth build confidence and resilience, equipping them with the skills to handle conflicts constructively and foster positive relationships.
Practical Experience in Community Settings
W.I.N. emphasizes real-world application of conflict resolution skills. Participants have opportunities to practice what they've learned in everyday situations- at school, at home, and in the neighborhoods. This hands-on approach helps solidify their skills and encourages them to become active contributors to a peaceful community environment.
Youth Engagement
At W.I.N. basketball is a key tool for engaging the youth in conflict resolution. The game provides a relaxed, team-based setting where kids can open up and learn to handle conflicts constructively. On-court challenges become teachable moments, helping youth develop communication and problem-solving skills they can use in daily life. Basketball fosters teamwork and trust, creating a safe space for participants to discuss conflicts and explore solutions. Through basketball, we help youth gain confidence and skills to navigate conflicts positively, both on and off the court.
Homework Support
The W.I.N. Youth Program provides dedicated time and space for the youth to complete their homework. We understand the importance of academic success, and our mentors are available to offer guidance and assistance, ensuring participants have the support they need to excel in their studies.
The W.I.N. Youth Program has positively impacted countless young individuals, providing them with the tools to approach conflicts with confidence and integrity. By fostering a culture of constructive conflict resolution, we help reduce tensions and build stronger, more connected neighborhoods.
